Matcha has gained immense popularity in the United States recently, but its importance in Japan extends back centuries, deeply intertwined with the nation’s long-standing tea culture. Presented by the Sakura Tea Circle of Tucson, this class will explore matcha’s fascinating history, the growing and cultivation of the tea plant, and traditional matcha preparation tools and techniques. It includes an informative slide presentation, a whisking demonstration, and a taste of ceremonial-grade tea. The class is ideal for both newcomers to Japanese tea and those seeking to deepen their matcha knowledge. 

Refund & Cancellation Policy

No refund will be issued less than 15 days prior to any Community Class. A $10 cancellation fee will be applied to all refunds. No refunds will be issued for special events. We reserve the right to cancel Community Classes due to insufficient registration, garden closure, or inclement weather, in which case, participants will receive a full refund. People with disabilities should make requests for accommodation as early as possible to allow time to make appropriate arrangements.
